It goes without saying that you probably at least heard of Halo, the game that changed next-gen gaming for the better just so many years ago. The third game in the franchise hit stands to great fanfare with improved graphics and an end to Halo’s story. |
Despite coming to the end of the Master Chiefs adventure, the games true life was with its multiplayer feature that allowed players to team up and go head to head via X-Box Live.
A short while after the games release, Bungie the games developer, announced the first of several ‘map packs’ which included extra multiplayer levels and other extras. The time has almost arrived for the second map pack, this one called the ‘Legendary Map Pack’. It looks as though gamers can look forward to at least a map pack for every level of difficulty that the game offers. Like the last pack, the Legendary pack offer’s three new maps plus additions to the forge map maker feature new to the Halo series.
So far only two of the three new levels has been introduced, Ghost Town and Avalanche. Completely new to the series, Ghost Town will present more than a battleground; it will be a challenge in and of itself with several traps and dead ends to be found. This level is being touted as a perfect stage for team slayer matches. Avalanche is a tribute to the Halo: Combat Evolved level called ‘Sidewinder’. So many fans loved the first set of multiplayer maps [fro halo 1] that they became a tough act to follow, making this level for long time fans is just good business.
The third map has yet to be announced, but rumors are that it is another map that fans of the first two games should be familiar with. Be on the lookout for the Legendary Map Pack coming to XBL for 800 X-Box Points on April 15th.
