Ghostbusters finally gets a game and it looks incredibly awesome!
|
Welcome to a new series on crave called “In Production” where we will feature different games that are….you guessed it, in production. Now it has taken me some time to find exactly the right game to kick this series off. I was thinking something everyone can relate too, something everyone has heard of, and something that most people probably already heard they were making, but wanted a few more details about. Then I saw the display case at a local video game store, and it hit me. Why not do Ghostbusters?!? So here we are in the very first week kickin off with Ghostbusters the video game.

Ghostbusters is hitting shelves this fall, and honestly it is looking really good. Penned by the original creators of the movie, the game takes place a couple of years after the second film, and a whole new evil is in town. So as the Ghostbusters newest recruit you it’s your job to head into the city with the team and bust up some ghosts. While I would say I am a little disappointed that you don’t just pick a member of the original team, I am sure there will be a reason for it as this game unfolds. Probably the coolest aspect however is that they got the entire original cast back to voice the game giving you the ability to basically play through what could have been the third film.
While Sierra entertainment has been pretty hush hush on what all you will be able to do, they have promised a wide variety of weapons and gadgets, that you can use to tear through the city and destroy phantoms, demons, and all sorts of whacked out creatures. While we have yet to see any actual game play footage, the screen shots have been incredible. You will probably want to keep a look out for the demo late summer, and expect the game to have an on time release in September.
