If you, God forbid, actually have a desire at this stage in your young tech life to engage in Windows Vista, you should at least try to do in with something a little stylish. One device we are eying which may well take away the pain of Vista is the new HTC Shift. |
The HTC Shift is a little baby PC which is almost small enough to slip into your pocket. It runs Windows Business Vista, which we can overlook because of the fact this is such a cool looking device. One feature which immediately grabs us though is what HTC calls “SnapVUE” - an always on option which gives you on-demand access to emails, calendars, SMS messages and contacts without needing to fully fire up the Shift.
HTC has built this 1.8 pound ultra mobile PC for use with Sprint here in the United States. It can take advantage of the cellular carrier's high speed wireless broadband network to let you “work or play across the nation” at decent wireless speeds. It does 802.11 b/g wireless connectivity and Bluetooth connectivity as well so you can get online in a lot of places.
Features wise you'll find the Shift has Windows Media Player installed for media file playback, a 7-inch touchscreen which does “slide-n-tilt,” a 40 GB hard drive built-in, USB 2.0, fingerprint sensor for security and lots more. Suffice to say you'll probably be able to live through Windows Vista pains with this fun toy at your side.
