Want to see Green Day? Well, we've got good news and bad news. You can soon see Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt of Green Day onstage, playing original songs, but you won't be seeing Green Day. Instead, you'll be watching The Foxboro Hot Tubs, the trio's super-catchy 60's punchy punk-pop side project - and that's not a bad thing at all. Wearing influences as diverse as The Stooges, The Hives and The Beach Boys on their sleeves, their sound is anything but the ordinary Green Day fare.
The Foxboro Hot Tubs, who reportedly got their name from a spot the boys used to sneak booze and girls into late at night, have have announced a small club tour of eight US cities, beginning next week. The tour will coincide with the release of their debut album Stop Drop And Roll, which hits stores Tuesday, May 20th. The first six songs off the album were offered for free at foxborohottubs.com last December, but have since been replaced with ads for the album.
The entire thing recently leaked on the internet, however, so be sure to stay tuned for an in-depth review of the album.
Tickets for the tour will run a breezy $20 each, and can only be purchased at the box office on the day of the show. There is a maximum of two tickets per person.
