One of America’s first science fiction icons Buck Rogers will return to print in a brand new comic book series from Dynamite Entertainment. The character already has a rich history in print, as well as film and early television credits. |
The original creators grandson Flint Dille still acts as the keeper of the character as an intellectual property. "My family and I have always considered the Buck legacy a sort of ‘sacred trust'," Dille says, "and we are absolutely confident that this collaboration with Dynamite honors that trust."
Comic superstars Alex Ross and John Cassaday have been linked to the series, providing conceptual and cover art for the book. Ross does the honors on the issue one cover while Cassaday will provide regular cover. A regular writer and artist for the series have not been named by press time.
Through the deal with the Dille Estate, Dynamite has the rights to publish not only Buck Rogers’s comics, but collections, including classic material, comics-based fine art prints, posters, action figures, trading cards, statues, and other high-end collectibles as well.
With the way Dynamite has handled books like Lone Ranger, Battlestar Galactica, Dynamite Entertainment is the perfect home for Buck Rogers. Nick Barrucci, Publisher and President of Dynamite Entertainment, expressed his enthusiasism to be working on one of his "dream projects since childhood," "Dynamite's job right now," Barrucci says, "is to find the writer and the artist who share my and my team's respect and affection for Buck Rogers, and who can help bring Buck, once again, into an exciting new future."
