Battlestar Galactica is back and we got an early look at the season opener. |
It is my duty to inform you that Battlestar Galactica is the best show on television. I am required to say that every time I write about the show to draw attention to this remarkable show and because it is true. Fans of the show already know that this will be the final season of the Peabody award winning science fiction drama, so there are very high expatiations this year.
After watching the season 4 premier, “He That Believeth In Me” I think the fan expectations will be met very quickly. There are two ongoing issues to be resolved this season; the identity of the twelfth and final Cylon model and the location of Earth. This season has been subtitled ‘The Final Revelation’ and this episode looks to set the direction of the rest of the season by addressing both issues.
The episode starts just minutes after the season 3 finale (“Crossroads: Part 2”). The Galactica is in the middle of a huge battle with more Cylon ships then they can even hope to ever defeat and every available pilot is getting in the air. Samuel Anders even gets in the air and has a very interesting encounter with a Cylon Raider before the entire battle ends.

Back on the Galactica, Starbuck’s return is bittersweet. For Lee and Kara’s husband Anders, her return is a miracle, for President Roslin and others Starbuck’s return is met with extreme suspicion.

Gaius Baltar also finds that the people aboard the Galactica are treating him differently. After being acquitted of treason and hated by most of the survivors (now down to about 39,000) he encounters a group that reveres him as someone who has the direct line to God. Needless to say he winds up sleeping with one of the (primarily female) group members rather quickly.
