We’ve just received word that Atomfilms is launching a brand new website dedicated to helping fans submit their movie parodies, fan films and fan mash ups for entry into the annual event.
The Challenge has been revamped for the new year and will feature a chance for the winning spots to be seen on Spike TV. The winners will be announced at this years San Diego Comic Con, with the grand prize winner being a film selected by George Lucas himself.
This year is also unique because it will be the first time fan film mash ups will eligible to win. Mash Ups are films that splice together various scenes from a movie with often times hilarious results. There is a simple mash up tool for use at
starwars.com that gives fans access to real footage from the Star Wars films.
In order for fans to take full advantage of this contest AtomFilms has launched
starwars.atomfilms.com to help potential filmmakers find the official rules and guidelines, a production kit to help edit films, view past winning films, and more.
Check out the video presentation about the contest:
The deadline for entry is May 27th so you don’t have much time, be sure to get started on your idea right away. If you’re looking to see these films then voting will be held on AtomFilms.com from June 26th to July 10th.
