Chicago MC Common is quickly becoming one of the who’s who in Hollywood as well as Hip Hop with yet another film role to his credit. Recently appearing in films like American Gangster, the upcoming Wanted, and Street Kings alongside Keanu Reeves and Forest Whittaker, Common is all over the map.

The latest news thanks to SOHH.com is that Common will have a starring role in the latest Terminator flick. The fifth film looks to be set in the future and will finally deal with the unavoidable war between man and machine. Christian Bale (Batman Begins, The Prestige) will take up the role of the adult John Conner made famous by Edward Furlong in T2.

Common is reported to play Conner’s right hand man in the war against the machines. No word on what the characters name will be. While the cast is still incomplete (Josh Brolin is rumored to play the Terminator) it’s hard to say whether or not another sequel is a good thing, however this is Hollywood. The folks on that side of town have never met a sequel they didn’t like.
