It's not hard to find people addicted to laughter on Wednesday nights. Comedy Central's mid-week comedy block is a one-two punch of animated awesome, beginning with the network's smash hit South Park and continuing with the younger but powerfully potent Ugly Americans! It's time to gear up for the new season for both programs, so we've got a quick series recap to get you in the side-splitting spirit.

Ever since the summer of 1997, millions of comedy fans have turned to Comedy Central on Wednesday nights for an unprecedented dose of raucous, envelope-pushing hilarity, delivered by four young animated Colorado boys and their network of family, friends & enemies known as South Park

Since its smash debut over 13 years ago, South Park has provided a lion's share of television's raunchiest, most controversial and socially biting moments in history over the course of more than 200 episodes. Eric, Kyle, Stan and Kenny have long been America's wayward juvenile gut-busters, providing biting social commentary through the eyes of children who at a glance are the face of youthful innocence - but anyone familiar with the show knows that there's nothing "innocent" about these kids!

Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone's brash willingness to break the rules would've had them on the unemployment line in no time if the show weren't so brilliantly subversive and successful, garnering widespread critical acclaim, numerous awards and the adoration of millions - not to mention a feature film all their own!

Carrying the tradition of boundary-pushing animated hilarity (in the next half-hour time slot, conveniently), Comedy Central's Ugly Americans has taken the bizarre world of New York City and turned it on its head with a side-splitting take on what the Big Apple would be like if populated by zombies, werewolves, yetis and freestanding brains, among other delightful horrors!

Amidst the cartoon chaos is Mark Lilly (voiced by Matt Oberg), an idealistic social worker tasked with making the legions of weird feel more at home. His girlfriend's a demon, his roomate's a zombie and his co-worker's a wizard, which saves us no sanctuary as Mark attempts to actually help the horrifying creatures he encounters on a daily basis.

The season premiere of both shows is fast approaching, so set your calendars for October 6th and get ready for the new seasons of South Park and Ugly Americans!
