One day a year, the internet becomes a virtually uninhabitable web of ridiculous lies and nonsense, organized by buffoons with cruel senses of humor, misleading and confusing anyone unlucky enough to take part. Wait, sorry, no - that's actually the internet all the time. April Fool's Day is even worse, however, because it's a day where people are expected to act like idiots and make up a bunch of bullshit stories, all for the sake of saying "April Fools!" when they trick you into believing your sister's dead, you've got AIDS or whatever other sinister shenanigans they're trying to pull.
On the other hand, people should get the chance every once in a while to lighten up and lie like the big boys do. So your mom falls to the floor in a dead faint because you sent her a picture of your face superimposed on a gay group-sex porn pic - so what? The look on her face was worth the concussion bills and recurring seizures. I laughed pretty hard when I fell for a random Twitter post stating "@levarburton arrested on weapons charges. http://bit.ly/82cBh". It's all in good fun, kids. Might as well enjoy it.
