Hot on the heels of the massive success of their Darkwing Duck ongoing series, Boom! Studios announced today that they will be releasing a Chip N’ Dale Rescue Rangers ongoing series in conjunction with Disney this December! Continuing what they are calling the "Disney Afternoon Revolution", Rescue Rangers will be headed up by Darkwing Duck writer Ian Brill and drawn by Marvel Superhero Squad artist Leonel Castellani. Based on the 1989 #13 rated Disney Afternoon TV show, the comic will include all the action, mystery, and humor that made the show so successful with kids and adults. Also, we can assume that Fat Cat will be making his triumphant return to cartoon villainy.
“After the overwhelming success we’ve had bringing Darkwing Duck back, Boom! knew it was time to continue the excitement and imagination of the Disney Afternoon revolution in comic book form ," said Brill. "It’s an honor to continue the adventures of Chip N’ Dale Rescue Rangers for both the generation of fans that enjoyed the show the first time and for a whole new generation of comic book fans!"
Rescue Rangers is a fond part of all our childhoods, and I can guarantee you’ll be humming the classic theme song for the rest of your working day.
