Jock Named Artist on Snyder's Detective Comics

The popular artist heads to Gotham City!

With the announcement a few weeks ago of American Vampire's Scott Snyder taking over writing duties on Detective Comics following a stint of filler issues following the exit of Greg Rucka and Batwoman, I was excited. But with today's announcement of the artist on Snyder's Detective Comics, I am ecstatic. Jock, artist of The Losers, Judge Dredd, Green Arrow: Year One, and cover artist of Scalped, is officially the interior artist come November, along with colorist David Baron.

“I could not be more excited about working with Jock," said Snyder. "Over the last couple months, I’ve spoken to some artists whose work I love, but Jock was always my top choice for this run on Detective Comics. I’ve been a huge fan of his work for a long time. His style is bold and dynamic - perfect for the kind of big, twisted Batman story we’re going to tell together . And with David Baron on colors, I can’t wait for November!"

And as for Jock himself, he had this to say: “Scott and I got the chance to talk a number of times over Comic-Con weekend in San Diego and his original and striking hook for the story took me completely by surprise - I couldn’t believe it hadn’t been done before and I was instantly hooked… I’m thrilled to be working with him on this and along with David Baron on colors can’t wait to get this story out there.”

With two immensely talented creators on board and the world of Batman getting more and more interesting, as a comic book fan, I can't wait until Detective Comics hits a new stride this fall. Stay tuned for all things Batman here at CraveOnline!
