After the complete buzzkill that was Terminator: Salvation, Dark Horse has announced some semblance of a saving grace for this legendary franchise with their announcement of a brand new Terminator comic, in the form of two three issue mini-series.

Writing this new entry into the Terminator mythos will be none other than Zack Whedon, who recently penned Dark Horse's Dr. Horrible one-shot. On art duties will be Punisher: War Journal's Andy MacDonald with covers by the amazing Massimo Carnevale of Y: The Last Man fame. "It's an honor to be a part of the on-going Terminator saga, and to have the talents of Andy MacDonald and Massimo Carnevale helping me in bringing this story to life." says Whedon.

The story will follow Kyle Reese, before being sent through time, as he battles to survive in a world of machines, fighting towards his ultimate destiny to be the father of humankind's most important leader, John Conner. From the sounds of things, this new Terminator book will feature a variety of different machines - and thus, action - but will be really focused on exploring the character of Reese.

The first issue of this exciting new entry into the Terminator story hits in March 2010. Stay tuned to CraveOnline for more news and images as they come!
