Free Comic Book Day was designed to introduce everyone to the joys of reading comics, bring back former readers and for thanking current comic buyers for continued consumption.
FCBD began in 2002 and derived from retailer Joe Field of Flying Color Comics in Concord CA. FCBD is held every year on the first Saturday of May at participating comic book stores across the country.
Try to catch Free Comic Day next year at "Comics INC" in Culver City for the specially printed copies of free comic books or just to take a peak and be the comic nerd you really are.
