Welcome true believers to the Book Report. This is where you can go to find out useful info about the world of comics on a weekly basis. We’ll have industry news and the like as well as reports on most things comics related. You’ve been warned, now let’s get to it.
Nick Fury is a slippery so and so…

Make sure to pick up your issue of Secret Warriors 2 for a special message from Nick Fury himself. The cover of the book features a posted note that says simply, “Agentfornothing.com ‘eagleeye’”. Type in the pphrase at the site and get treated to a number of goodies from Marvel Comics and their online comic’s service. A Marvel Spokesman said that fans should expect more from Nick Fury in the future.

And the battle rages on…

It looks like the dispute between Fox and Warner Bros. over the rights to the Watchmen movie is continuing. A federal judge was reportedly unable to decide who controlled the rights to film Warner Bros. plans to release soon. This all points to a possible court date set for January 20th.

Slam Evil!...again!

That’s right folks, it looks like the Phantom will be back on the silver screen eventually. The reports are saying that a Phantom Movie is in the works and is set to be filmed in Australia. The film is tentatively called The Phantom Legacy, no word yet on whether Billy Zane will be back to play the Phantom once again.

And then there was Catwoman…

This is a short one thanks to E! Online, they are saying that Rachel Weisz will be playing Catwoman in a new Batman film. We’ll just file that next to Johnny Depp and the rest of the rumored all star cast.

A change at the top…

Dark Horse Entertainment has named Keith Goldberg as senior vice president of production. He will be based in Los Angeles and will oversee Dark Horses relationship with Universal Pictures and also work on bringing in new film projects.

And the part will be big…

Screenwriter Justin Theroux explained to MTV that the role of James Rhodes in the next Iron Man film will be a big one, “I can't really speak to the plot stuff and all the rest of it but Rhodes is completely present in a very strong and big way," Theroux said. "He's COMPLETELY present."

We don’t care if Jesus wrote it himself…

Word from MTV.com and their Splash Page features state that the Spider-Man: The Musical is being written by Bono and The Edge of U2 fame. Really? Does it matter who is writing this garbage? First they threaten us with a fourth movie, and now this? Evan Rachel Wood is reportedly going to play Mary Jane as well. Quick someone get a thermometer and check the temperature in hell, cause that’s where we are man, that’s where we are!
