Today officially marks the day where we have less than four weeks left until Comic-Con in San Diego, so every week we're going to feature a new thing to check out down at one of the greatest comic book conventions in the world. This week we'll examine what's easily one of the coolest parts, the guest speakers.
The top five guest speakers to look out for at Comic-Con:
1. Max Brooks: Max has made a huge name for himself amongst the zombie fan crowd with his books “Zombie Survival Guide” and “World War Z: An Oral History on the Zombie War” the latter of which is being made into a full length feature film. Not just a writer, Max Brooks has also lent his voice to shows such as Justice League, and Batman Beyond. Of course what we are hoping to hear more about at Comic-Con is on his movie adaptation, and his first graphic novel based on his books Zombie Survival Guide, Recorded Attacks.
2. Ed Brubaker: Ed is far from unknown - anyone who didn’t know who this guy was heard his name on CNN after he killed off Captain America last year. A book that was considered the story of the year, and got some of the most mainstream media coverage that any comic has ever seen. He is also the Eisner Award Winner last year for Best Writer. Of course that isn’t even his first award, as he picked up yet another one before that for his Batman Comic: Gotham Central”. Make sure you check out what he has to say about future projects.
3. Bryan Hitch: Bryan is best known for his works on the Ultimate’s Title where he worked along side legend writer Mark Miller, of course he isn’t new to the comic world as he also worked on JLA and his Co-Creation of Wildstorm’s “The Authority”. This year he also plans on reuniting with Mark Miller to work on revamping the Fantastic Four.
4. Geoff Johns: This man has done it all, he started out working as an assistant director with Richard Donner the man who directed The Original Superman Movie. He then went on to write some pretty incredible titles including; Teen Titans, The Flash, Hawkman, Infinite Crisis, 52, and many others. Make sure to show up so he can talk about his current writings such as JSA, Action Comics, and Green Lantern. Oh and while you’re there make sure to tell him how amazing DC Universe Zero was.
5. Jim Lee: There isn’t a whole lot to say about this final guest speaker other than he is Jim Lee, he is the founder of WildStorm comics, and the great artist who did Batman: Hush, All Star Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder, and my personal favorite Superman: For Tomorrow. Make sure to show up and here all about Jim Lee’s current and future projects.
That's all for this week! Stay tuned to see what Comic-Con will have to offer next week!
