Marvel sent out a handful of bits and bobs today that included pretty pictures, so let's show you what they're cookin'.
First of all, a couple of teasers came out just advertising WAR. As if Avengers vs. X-Men wasn't enough of a war, there's somethin' big for this fall that will be revealed on the last day of San Diego Comic-Con. Rumor has it that this is likely The Ultron War that has been talked about for some time, and teased in Marvel's Point One book last fall.
Marvel also sent out a Salvador Larroca variant cover for Greg Pak's X-Treme X-Men, which basically revives the classic Exiles concept of alternate reality heroes banding together to solve problems. I like the Wolverine already. Er, excuse me. That's Captain Howlett, with Emmeline Frost and Kid Nightcrawler (why not Nocturne? Isn't she still kicking around the 616 somewhere?)
Then, there's the weird news that Wolverine #310 will be published before Wolverine #309. The reason seems to be that #309 is a stand-alone issue from Ivan Brandon, Rafael Albuquerque and Jason Latour, whereas #310 is the new creative team of Jeph Loeb and Simone Bianchi bringing Sabretooth back from the dead – which apparently they want to do before SDCC, so it's coming out on July 4.
Lastly, we've got a look at three variant covers coming out in October, going pink to partner with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Seems Komen is bouncing back from their Planned Parenthood kerfluffle a few months back. There will also be ads in all the October comics plugging the effort as well.
