It's the thing to do now. It happened with DC's New 52, Walking Dead #100 and Marvel's Avengers vs. X-Men, and now, it's with Marvel's answer to DC's New 52 – the NOW initiative, wherein all the creative teams are being shifted around willy-nilly in the post AvX world. It starts with Rick Remender & John Cassaday's Uncanny Avengers #1 on October 10th, and the House of Ideas is hoping it has enough mojo to plan a release party around. They want to make it the best selling issue of the year.
In that spirit, they are offering retailers an Uncanny Avengers Party Kit, including the chance to order a flashback to that weird Deadpool month, where they kept throwing him onto variant covers of other books. Here, he gets to be on a Mark Brooks variant cover of Uncanny Avengers #1. Seeing as how Remender works well with Wade over in Uncanny X-Force, could it be a sign that he's in the book somehow, or was it just a chance to make a "Call Me Maybe" joke?
