In case you missed it in all the hubbub, this happened over the weekend at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, to celebrate the debut of the NBA's Nets in their new home:

What are you looking at? It's the Brooklyn Nets' new mascot/superhero, BrooklyKnight, created by the Nets in conjunction with Marvel Comics. In fact, people at the game – Nets vs. Raptors, by the by, which the Nets won 107-100 – were gifted with a special edition Marvel Comic called, appropriately enough, BrooklyKnight #1, from star creators Jason Aaron and Mike Deodato.
Take a look at these pages from the book.
Ahhh. One cannot help but be reminded of grand sporting tradition. On one hand, professional sports returns to Brooklyn for the first time since the Dodgers up and split for the west coast back in 1957. On another, Marvel Comics returns to the art of creating superheroes based on professional sports. Who could forget the might of NFL SuperPro?
And no one will ever forget his villainous rogues gallery!
That's right, people. You have NFL SuperPro to thank for the continued existence of the rain forest. Who knows what future joy we may owe to BrooklyKnight?
