Robert E. Howard’s Only Conan Novel Coming to Comics

The creator of Conan's original vision comes to life with King Conan: The Hour of the Dragon.

King Conan: The Hour of the Dragon

Back in 1932, Robert E. Howard created Conan The Barbarian in a pulp magazine called Weird Tales. Throughout his lifetime, he created a series of novellas and novelettes, but only one full length novel. It was entitled King Conan: The Hour of the Dragon, and it will now be adapted into two six-issue miniseries by Dark Horse Comics, with writer Timothy Truman and artist Tomás Giorello at the helm.

The first issue comes out on May 29, and will run through October, before the second miniseries, King Conan: The Conqueror, starts running in February, 2014.

What's the story? Well, here's the blurb:  "King Conan has faced many threats to his throne in Aquilonia—but none more deadly than a traitorous alliance backed by the resurrected sorcerer Xaltotun, at whose command mountains crumble!"

So if you dig Conan, you'll probably dig this more than Conan O'Brien's awfully CGIed cameo in the 30 Rock finale last night.
