Holy crap, are there big shakin's in the comic book world this week! In that respect, we've got a super-sized edition of "The Book Report" podcast this week. Not only do you get your usual dose of Crave Online Comics Editor Andy Hunsaker and writer Iann Robinson, but as special guests, we've got the guys from Crave's TV podcast "The Idiot Box," Blair Marnell and Sax Carr, on board to weigh in on the funnybook madness from DC.
Unless you've been under a rock or paying attention to actual important news events, you've heard that DC Comics is planning to reboot their entire universe once their current reality-warping event series Flashpoint comes to an end this September. They want to make their iconic characters younger, jazz up their costumes and diversify their ethnicities for the modern audience, but as always, loyal fans have pah-lenty to say about that, and we do, too. Also covered in this week's episode: Fear Itself, the return of Valiant Comics, Red Hulk, Uncanny X-Force, Thunderbolts, Secret Six, and we speculate on possible renovations for Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Hawkman and all the legacy mantle-carrying new characters in the new DC. Not to mention offering a big thumbs up to X-Men: First Class. You won't want to miss what Andy says about what Michael Fassbender as Magneto does for him.
