I feel like it has been years since Vertigo first announced Daytripper at New York Comic-Con some time ago, but the time is finally approaching where we will be able to get our grubby mitts on Vertigo's new ten issue limited series from Eisner award-winning brothers Gabriel Ba (Umbrella Academy) and Fabio Moon (Casanova).
The brothers are sharing both writing and art duties on this series that Vertigo says follows "in the tradition of Craig Thompson, Paul Pope and David Mazzucchelli" - some bold comparisons to be sure. Daytripper is a low-key tale about the small moments in life, following an obituary columnist trying to emerge out of his father's huge (and famous) shadow. With the talent involved and the promise of the exploration of life's meaning, Daytripper has the kind of buzz about it that often results in critical acclaim.
We'll know for sure when this first issue hits on December 9; for now, enjoy this early preview!
