Image United is certainly a vast undertaking. Encompassing the entire Image superhero-verse, with each creator drawing their own creations and the first issue shipping with eleven - yes, eleven - different covers, Image hounds will have a field day collecting this one. The mini-series is set to run for six issues, and until now, there was one founding Image partner that was unknown to be involved: Wildstorm's Editorial Director Jim Lee.
However, Image announced via press release today that Lee would indeed be contributing by way of a variant cover, shown in pencil sketch form below (read: sweet).
"Things just got real," says Robert Kirkman, Image partner and writer of the cross-over event. "Having all seven founders truly united propels the crossover to a whole new level. That's a commonly used phrase, but it's definitely the case here. This is exactly the moment fans have been hoping for and I'm very happy to say Jim delivered. That said, if you think this is cool, just wait for what happens next!"
Image United #1 releases on November 25. With eleven covers, remember. Happy hunting!
