Yes, we'd all like some more comic adventures from the comedy characters that spun out of Flaming Carrot – i.e. Mr. Furious, the Bowler, the Blue Raja, the Shoveler, the Sphinx, Invisible Boy and the Spleen – but Marvel's new Mystery Men hearken back to an entirely different and pre-ironic time, when "men of mystery" captured the hearts and minds of the nation with their tall tales of derring-do.
Set in a time before Captain America and The Twelve (by the by, can we get that series finished soon, please?), five heroes are drawn into a strange conspiracy that ties their fates together and threatens America itself. Their names are The Revenant, the Aviatrix, Achilles, the Operative and the Surgeon, and while trying to solve a brutal murder, events around them begin to escalate.
