In the continuing effort to take Marvel's characters in directions they can't go in the 616, the Ultimate Marvel Universe has revealed that mutantkind was actually created by the United States government, and thus the X-Men are wanted fugitives. Stryker and the Purifiers are out to round them up and kill them all. Iceman, the Human Torch and Kitty Pryde are on the run for their lives in Nick Spencer's story.
