Nick Spencer's bleak superhero agency returns to fight while they can before their inevitable doom.

T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #1

Nick Spencer gave us a T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents series just before the New 52 kicked in that could easily still be canon, since it didn't really connect in any signficant way to the Old DCU.  Will that prove to be the case with his DCnU version of The Higher United Nations Defense Enforcement Reserves?

We'll have to wait and see if they'll carry over that same bleak tone of Spencer's story about people in need of redemption who take on superhero identities with the full knowledge that it will eventually kill them.  In this new six-issue miniseries, we find our team trying to keep the peace in Subterranea, only to find sabotage at work.

Check out these preview pages for T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #1, due out this Wednesday, featuring art from Wes Craig and a cover by Andy Kubert and Brad Anderson.
