Over the weekend, DC editor Brian Cunningham fired longtime fan-favorite Batgirl writer Gail Simone via email. Today, they offer a preview of this week's Batgirl #15, the height of Simone's crossover with the big "Death of the Family" arc featuring the Joker's return as their only statement so far.
While it smacks of a kind of crass opportunism, it's still Gail Simone writing Barbara Gordon, her signature character, for the second to last time, as her run is apparently slated to end with #16, even though her book was a critical and sales success. Strange things are afoot at DC editorial.
But here's their preview of Batgirl #15, featuring art from Daniel Sampere and Vicente Cifuentes. Sample Simone's work with both Babs and twisted madness like the Joker (reminiscent of her beloved Secret Six run) while you can.
