Preview: Rob Williams & Jack Herbert on ‘Miss Fury #1′

Dynamite's bringing the pulp heroine into the modern era, complete with a bathtub splash page!

Miss Fury #1

If you don't remember Miss Fury from the 1940s, fret not – you're about to get a reintroduction thanks to Dynamite Entertainment. Spinning out of the pages of Masks, Miss Fury #1 will hit in April, bringing her back in a big way with writer Rob Williams and some eye-popping art from Jack Herbert – art which you can see below in this preview.

"It's the kickass action of La Femme Nikita meets the political intrigue of Homeland," says Williams.  "We're bringing the original super-heroine from the 1940s into 2013 and the future in a time-travel adventure like no other."

Here's the synopsis blurb for the first issue:

When Miss Fury foils a wartime plot by Nazi secret agents, she is catapulted through time… or so it seems.  Is she really careening from past to future and back, or has she lost her mind?  And if her sanity remains intact, can one lone heroine possibly hope to end World War II by herself, a conflict still waged into the year 2013?  As witness to generations of bloodshed and violence, Miss Fury has lots of righteous rage… and anger is her fearsome power!

Check out these myriad covers for Miss Fury #1, from artists Alex Ross, J. Scott Campbell, Paul Renaud and Will Conrad, and four pages of interior art from Herbert  – including a bathtub splash page! Of course, you like to see ladies in bathtubs!
