Star Wars Rebellion #16
Celeste Morne meets Luke Skywalker.
Celeste Morne has been stuck with the Muur Talisman for over four thousand years by the time we catch up to her in Rebellion. Kept alive by the Talisman Celeste has fallen to the dark side as she has slipped into madness. The only real development in the story is that she has come to embrace the madness and feels lost without the Talisman.
Luke Skywalker appears in the story but could have easily been any other Jedi. The fact that its Luke has no real bearing on anything. It was cool to see Luke and all that, but did Vector really need to visit Rebellion? The answer is no, that Rebellion would have been fine without two issue’s that really didn’t move along the story.
It’s true however that we now know that Vader almost destroyed the rebellion with the unwitting aide of Celeste Morne but that was and is the extent of her involvement in the story. This whole thing kind of seems like a kitchen sink approach that left no real lasting impression on either story. It would have been much cooler if Celeste had visited a young Anakin as a Jedi and then again as Vader or something like that.
If your reading Vector right now then you likely need this issue to complete your set, but that’s just about it. If you’re reading Rebellion then I would suggest taking this issue off and reading something else (like Legacy) and picking up issue 17 of Rebellion which should get back on track soon.
