Ultimate Spider-Man #123

Venom makes his sinister return.

Ultimate Spider-Man #123

By Tyler Locke

Of all the storylines of Ultimate Spider-Man, the Symbiote tales were always a fan favorite, and Venom is back! It has been a whopping eighty odd issues since we have heard from Eddie Brock and he is now revealing his tale to anyone who will listen to him.

The story sets up on a park bench in central park where an old lady sits down next to Eddie and he begins to ramble on about what he has become, and his encounters with Spider-Man. The panels jump back and forth from Eddie on the bench and his story that he is revealing. Every time the story cuts back to our narrator, Mr. Brock, he is sitting next to a different person eagerly waiting in anticipation for him to continue. This was pulled strait from Forest Gump, and I love the way it unfolds. It was a great way to re-introduce Venom to the Ultimate Spider-Man saga, and the way he tells his story, the audience gets to learn how it feels to be Eddie Brock. An host site with two brains, one hungry for violence, and one hungry for a means to an end.

The group who try and bring an end to Venom is the Wildpack, lead by Silver Sable. Their efforts seam to be ineffective in taking down Venom, and just when you think they have him, Venom leaps away in the distance.

Eddie explains in his story, the only time he feels at peace with himself and truly happy is when he is close to Spider-Man. He does not know what it is, but for some reason, the suit has a connection to Peter Parker.

Can the Wildpack take down Venom with the help of Spider-Man and put Eddie Brock out of his misery? Or is Spider-Man just prolonging his fate of becoming the next host for the alien Symbiote? Find out in the next issue of Ultimate Spider-Man!
