This issue of Legacy digs deeper into the backstory of the Legacy era’s Jedi.

It also helps to set the stage for the bigger story elements that are right around the corner. While this particular issue isn’t the most ground breaking, and there are no big reveals it’s still an important issue nonetheless. We really get to see Cade attempt to take control of his life and finally stop running.

In the beginning of issue #25, Cade and company make their way to the Hidden temple of the Jedi, a facility that is barely known to the Jedi in order to ensure that it always remained secret. If it wasn’t for Master K’Kruhk being so long lived, the crew would not even have known how to get there, a really cool story element because it puts the Jedi back into play in the story. Now Cade has a group to work with as he grows as a Jedi, possibly.

Despite being surrounded by Jedi, some as old as Master K’Kruhk, Cade is letting his anger at Darth Krayt get the better of him. He pleads with the council to let him lead a small Jedi strike force in an attempt to assassinate Darth Krayt, the leader of the Sith. The Imperial Knights who tracked Cade to the Hidden Temple believe that Cade may be on to something and are planning to approach him about the mission should the Jedi decline.

The Imperial Knights are a great addition to the Star Wars universe; they spell a lot of progression for the Empire in the story. The fact that the empire has Knights that are not Sith says a lot about how much has changed in the universe, and they change how the Force is interpreted by readers. The Imperial Knights are neither Jedi nor Sith, but they use the force and battle with Lightsabers. However, they work for the Imperials which technically make them the bad guys. How is it possible to be in that position without falling to the dark side? Unless of course they really aren’t as bad as they seem. The status quo in Legacy lends itself to almost limitless possibilities.

All in all Legacy is still forging ahead and writing the future of the Star Wars universe. This series is special because it will give future creators even more room to work on the Star Wars canvas.
