Thunderbolts #120

The madness continues.

By James LeBeau
Its part V of Caged Angels and the craziness inside T-Bolt is getting INTENSE! Want an everyday example of HOW intense…go find a bee hive and shake the crap out of it, what happens after is exactly what’s going on in Thunderbolts#120.

I mainly operate under a strict “no spoilers” rule, but for this issue, I’ll make an exception with one little reveal…GREEN GOBLIN IS BACK!!! That’s right, good old corporate ‘storming’ Norman (who sorta resembles Tommy Lee Jones in this ish???) is back in the purple and green and he’s showing EVERYONE why you should fear the Goblin! (He flies through the mountain with the greatest of ease and rips open the Swordsman for all to see!) I’m serious though, you should see the number he does on Baron Swordsman.

This book continues to amaze me month after month with its gritty artwork (the best outside of Alex Ross in my opinion), and superb writing. The combination blends perfectly to create a palatable sense of tension in every issue that isn’t matched anywhere in comics. The only sad part about this book is how underappreciated it is in the Marvel universe. I mean, seriously, every time you see the T-Bolts outside of this book, they are getting their butts handed to them by someone or another…be it Nova or Spider-Man! I half expect to see a Howard the Duck one-shot that has him beating down Venom while slapping around Moonstone and Songbird every time I walk into my comic shop!

Seriously though, check out this book if you haven’t, it’s easily one of the best ones out there today. And for you Secret Invasion followers, the Captain Marvel tie-in issues are due up after this arc concludes….beginning in July, with issue #122.
