There’s a chance, however slight, that we may get a sequel to Bully, Rockstar’s 2006 open-world private school simulator.
While talking with Gamasutra, Rockstar’s Vice President, Dan Houser, made mention that Rockstar may revisit the Bully franchise after work on Max Payne 3 wraps up. However, that isn’t set in stone. But the mere fact that he is openly talking about the series again is a positive sign.
“We knew that we didn't want to start doing the Bully sequel instantly at that second with those guys--even though it is a property that, like Max, we adore and might come back to in the future,” said Houser. “There was just no impetus to do that then. So we said, 'You can do Max, and then we will see what we can do with Bully.' So it was really waiting for the slot to open up and the group to open up to at least start work on it."
In all honesty, Bully is one of the few Rockstar titles that few under my radar (along with The Warriors). However, I would love to see them tackle the property again so I can be in on the ground floor this time.
Would you like to see a sequel to Bully? Or, would you rather see Rockstar apply their talents to something else, whether it’s a completely new IP or one of their other established franchises? Sound off in the comments below.
