Let the cook-off begin (again) and may the best celebrity win - Emmy-winning talk show host and icon Rachael Ray and best-selling cookbook author and cult Food Network sensation Guy Fieri return to coach eight multi-talented celebrities through a series of intense culinary challenges in the second season of the hit competitive series "Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off," debuting in January.
One lucky celebrity winner will walk away with bragging rights and a $50,000 donation to the charity they’re playing to support. In each of the six hour-long episodes, the celebrities are thrown into unfamiliar and grueling challenges like creating farm-to-table dishes served in the middle of a farm or revamping a dinner menu and serving it to customers in old-school diner uniforms at a legendary Los Angeles greasy spoon joint. The bottom celebrity from each team must then compete in a "sudden death" challenge that ultimately sends one competitor home each week. The eight new celebrity competitors competing for the title of "Cook-Off Champion" and a cash prize this season are:
Gilbert Gottfried (actor, comedian)
Kathy Najimy (actress, "Sister Act")
Hines Ward (former NFL player; Super Bowl Champion and MVP)
Carnie Wilson (singer, Wilson Phillips)
Chilli (member of pop/R&B group TLC)
Cornelia Guest (designer, author, philanthropist)
Dean McDermott (Canadian actor, reality television star)
Johnny Weir (two-time Olympic Figure Skater, three-time U.S. National Champion)
For the finale, the two celebrities who are left standing must host a dinner party as they plan, cook and serve a three-course meal for dinner guests including Kathy Griffin, Chef Nancy Silverton, Chef Suzanne Goin, and other notable chefs, along with their charity executives. These dinner guests will help to determine which celebrity will earn the $50,000 grand prize.
The new season of Food Network Canada’s number-one show last winter premieres on Sunday, January 6th at 10pm on Food Network Canada.
