Back in November, FX officially renewed “American Horror Story” for another season and confirmed that Jessica Lange will be back for her third season on the series. But she won’t be alone.
During an advance screening of next week’s finale of “American Horror Story: Asylum” (via Deadline), series co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will both return for “American Horror Story” Season 3.
In the first season, Paulson had a small role as the psychic, Billy Dean Howard before landing a much more prominent role in “Asylum” as Lana Winters. Peters portrayed the troubled young man, Tate Langdon in the first season before transitioning into the role of Kit Walker in “Asylum.”
As before, the new season of “American Horror Story” will be a completely different storyline, with the returning actors cast in new roles. At the event, Murphy said that “American Horror Story” Season 3 will be set in the present and he described it as a “romance.” That tracks with Murphy’s earlier comments in which he said that he missed the “Romeo & Juliet” aspect from the first season and that he planned to use it again this time around.
Prior to “American Horror Story,” Paulson landed roles on several TV series including “Law & Order,” “American Gothic,” “Deadwood,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Cupid” and “Grey’s Anatomy.” Peters has previously had parts in Kick-Ass, “Without a Trace,” “One Tree Hill,” “In Plain Sight” and “Criminal Minds.”
