With his Dad's next career move the subject of much speculation, David Beckham's 13-year-old son Brooklyn may be making his first footsteps into his own future, as he has had a trial at Chelsea's training ground.
Brooklyn took part in a youth match for Chelsea's under-14 squad, with former LA Galaxy midfielder David cheering him on from the sidelines.
Pictures released showing Beckham Snr at Chelsea's state-of-the-art Cobham training ground prompted rumours that he was planning a return to the Premier League, where he first shot to fame with Manchester United.
However, it has now emerged that the reason for his surprise appearance at the training ground was to encourage his son, as the youngster attempts to follow in the footsteps of his infamous father.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes have already placed odds on Brooklyn's footballing future, including:
- 16/1 Brooklyn Beckham signs a professional contract with Chelsea before the age of 18
- 25/1 he plays for a Man Utd XI before 2025
- 66/1 he captains England at senior level
David Beckham, who has three sons and one daughter with former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, has previously said of his childrens' futures: "They've got a great life set up for them... Obviously our boys and little girl are very lucky.
"But I think, as a parent, you always worry: "Have they got the hunger that I had as a kid?" I'm as hard on my boys as my dad was. They always ask, "Did I play well?" I'll say, "You did alright, could have done better..."'
