A remastered version of Shadow of the Colossus is officially coming to the PS4, with Sony’s Japan Studio working on an updated re-release of Team Ico’s legendary PS2 game.

Shadow of the Colossus is widely regarded as one of the best games ever made, with fans having called for a remastered edition to make its way to the PS4 for a while now. After Sony filed a trademark for the game many began speculating that it was on the horizon, but E3 2017 saw them confirm that it is indeed on its way.

Sony showed off gameplay footage of it running on the PS4, and it looks suitably gorgeous. With it being widely regarded as one of the best-looking games of its generation, it’s good to see that Japan Studio has seemingly put a great deal of care into making its uniquely bleak but beautiful visuals translate to the PS4.

Team Ico released their long-awaited follow-up to Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian, last year after a lengthy development period.  A release date hasn’t been set in stone by Sony for Shadow of the Colossus, with its debut trailer stating that it will launch in 2018.
