Winter is here, but the real war may be closer to home in the next glimpse at the penultimate season of 'Game of Thrones.'

Jon Snow is the King in the North, and he knows where the real war is. But in the seventh season of Game of Thrones, Jon may miss a threat closer to home.

In a newly released trailer for GoT’s seventh season, Littlefinger’s words of poison and discord echo in Sansa Stark’s ears as Jon takes the battle to the White Walkers beyond the Wall. From Sansa’s point of view, Jon may have inadvertently stolen her birthright as the eldest Stark child. But if she follows Littlefinger’s advice then it could be the end of them all. If Sansa’s line at the end of the trailer is any indication, she may be willing to let Jon die as long as “the pack survives.”

That’s far from the only thing that the Stark siblings relatives have to worry about. Cersei Lannister reigns in King’s Landing, and she won’t give up the seven kingdoms without a fight. She’s quite like Littlefinger in that way, and she would surely let her people die rather than step aside for the arrival of Daenerys. As for the Mother of Dragons, her return to Westeros may also prove to be complex. Just because she has the birthright, the armies, and three dragons doesn’t mean that that Daenerys has smooth sailing ahead. Her path to the Iron Throne will be paved in blood.

The seventh season of Game of Thrones will premiere on Sunday, July 16.
