Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are back in action and this time… it's personable. Well, actually it was pretty personable last time too. Ferrell and Wahlberg last united to fight crime in The Other Guys but now they've joined forces to produce and star in Turkey Bowl, a comedy about two rival football coaches competing in an annual grudge match game. Deadline says it's a tackle football game, which is pretty standard. Why has there never been a serious dramatic portrayal of a touch football game? If it helps, I'll contribute a "The Most Touching Football Movie Ever Made!" quote for your poster.
Turky Bowl will supposedly be packed with celebrity cameos, a la the fight sequence in Anchorman, and Alec Baldwin has already been cast as Mark Wahlberg's father. Fitting, that… the film was written by 30 Rock's Robert Carlock and Scott Silveri from a story by Owen Burke.
I'm just going to say it now… Cameo appearance by Adam Sandler as The Water Boy. How awesome would it be?
Crave Online will return with more Turkey Bowl news after we take a quick nap.
