‘Thor’ Sequel Already in the Works?

One of the summer's first big hits gets sequel talk. And could we already know who the villains are?

So we really liked Thor over here. Big, brassy fantasy entertainment that was. It came out barely two weeks ago and has already made over $350 million internationally. So yeah, it's time to talk sequels. Thor 2 talks are apparently underway at Marvel Studios, with the intention of getting the mighty sequel off the ground after the God of Thunder makes his appearance in Joss Whedon's upcoming Avengers movie. So what's next for Thor

CinemaBlend reports that Marvel is planning for Thor 2 to be released in 2013, the same year as Iron Man 3. And while they haven't started writing a script yet it appears that the production company is seriously considering including The Enchantress and The Executioner as the next film's villains. This is kind of a no-brainer, really, since as mighty as Thor is he's never had a particularly large rogues gallery. Mostly Loki, really. It's almost like a Harry Potter book sometimes. "Oh no, Frost Giants are attacking!" "So, it's Loki right?" "Well, not necessarily…" "Dude, it's Loki." "Yeah… Yeah, it's probably Loki."

The Enchantress is an Asgardian sorceress most famous for her repeated attempts to seduce Thor away from his human love interest. The Executioner is an Asgardian warrior with a hopeless crush on The Enchantress. He also has a tendency to execute things. Not just a name, that.

Obviously this is hella early, yo. Even if these reports are all true, Marvel could easily change its minds today, tomorrow or even months from now. So take it with a Jotunheim-sized grain of salt.

Crave Online will be back with more Thor 2 news, because this is only the beginning…
