Sony's new green band trailer replaces bootleg, replaces nip-slip with lesbian kiss.

This weekend the internet was all abuzz with the 'bootlegged' red band trailer for David Fincher's upcoming remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, based on the best-selling novel by Stieg Larrson. Why is 'bootlegged' in quotation marks? Because the uncanny audio and video quality, combined with the fact that Sony Pictures didn't take it down for half a week led many to believe that it was a studio plant. Sony claimed that the trailer, while real, was illegally uploaded onto the web but had no comment when The Hollywood Reporter asked why no action was taken to pull it down. The trailer was finally pulled on Tuesday, and has been replaced with an official green band trailer which is almost completely similar: a few mid-coital shots have been replaced by less salacious imagery, and a blink-and-you'll-miss-it nipple shot has been replaced by a tame lesbian kiss.

Otherwise what follows is the same trailer, complete with an awesome cover of Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song by Trent Reznor (who is composing the score) and Karen O of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. There's not a hint of story to be found here, just an assault on the senses comprised of imagery from the upcoming film, but fans of the book and/or original movie will recognize just about every damned thing that's happening here. Check it out!
