Last night on GameTrailers TV, LucasArts pulled back the curtain on their next Star Wars game, Star Wars 1313. The title will launch in 2013 and put players in the shoes of a “lethal bounty hunter” traveling into the criminal underworld of Coruscant.

Based on the first image to be released of the title (shown above), Star Wars 1313 will take place during the original Star Wars trilogy era. LucasArts is saying the game introduces a “never-before-seen dark and mature world.”

Here’s a little bit more about Star Wars 1313, courtesy of the game’s official press release:

“Named for Level 1313, a ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet of Coruscant, the game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy. Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.”

Many across the Internet are speculating the “lethal bounty hunter” you will play as is none other than Boba Fett. Before learning of Level 1313, the number “1313” was closely tied to Fett as part of an alias he once used.

The full reveal of Star Wars 1313 will happen at E3 next week.
