Cable and Deadpool is a fun read, you might want to give it a try. Issue 45 catches up with Wade and a HYDRA agent named ‘Bob’ (Cable is kind of busy being dead in the X-Men books) being folded through time (yeah, I know.). They wind up in Germany during WWII and have the fortune of running across Captain America and Bucky Barnes who are busy fighting  a group of Nazi soldiers. Now that Bucky is back in the mainstream books as a total bad ass, other writers are having fun ret-conning Bucky much in the same way that Ed Brubaker did.

The scenes where Deadpool and Cap are having a casual conversion while Bucky runs amok in the background are classic. While there is a bigger element going on throughout the issue, this story is fairly self contained and easy to pick up and read. In fact, this issue serves as a very good jumping on point for new readers. If you walk in comic circles then odds are  you’ve heard of this series, well the rumors are true so go ahead and pick this book up. For all you Cable fans out there, the common understanding is that he’s dead, but I think the events of his demise may have been exaggerated. Hopefully we’ll see Nate make a comeback in 08’.
