![]() By James LeBeau | Its part 2, the final part, of the Batman/Zatanna team-up arc and things are moving pretty quick. |
“So far, I’ve been propositioned by Zatanna, kidnapped by Scarface, and shot at by a dead friend’s ex-fiancée. Hell of a night and I’m not even in uniform yet.”
And there you have it, Detective Comics #843 in a nutshell! Now onto #844 where Richie Rich, Mr. Wayne, is in dire straits against the nefarious Scarface, who gives new meaning to the term ‘dirty wood’ (he’s an evil puppet, you sick people). The good about this issue is pretty much the same as the past few…it’s a fun story that isn’t stretched too thin. You don’t need to go pick up ten different issues in five different books, you just need to pick up this issue and last to get the entire story. Yeah, the villain is one of Bats’s lamer ones…the new Ventriloquist (with Scarface)…but at least you get an origin out of it! Plus you get to see more Bruce Wayne, the man behind the mask, as he shamelessly flirts with Zatanna. So, the final verdict is that this is definitely worth your money. It’s a smart read with decent art, a pretty nice combo in my book!
