The cosmic team supreme has had a run of bad luck recently. The Skrulls popping up on Knowhere has lead to a breaking point for the Guardians of the Galaxy. With the team coming apart at the seams it’s up to Rocket Raccoon to keep the team together as best he can. The Badoon have also made their appearance which has Major Vance Astro loosing it. Could things get any worse? Oh yeah, Peter Quill is a prisoner of Blastaar.
It looks like Blastaar and Ronin The Accuser have struck a deal which has made Blastaar King of the negative zone. Quill is stuck there after running afoul of Ronin himself and now has to contend with Blastaar somehow. Star-Lord is one of my favorite characters and it’s cool to see him up against such incredible odds. I won’t tell you exactly what Blastaars plans are but they involve Peter in a big way.
The rest of the team is wrapping up a skirmish with the Badoon when we catch up to them. There is something special about adventures in outer space that just gets to me. This story is no different, as the team is spread thin over several worlds and dimensions in search of answers. Adam Warlock and Gamora are back together as a duo as they go after the Universal Church of Truth in their own unique fashion. I like this new version of Adam, he’s more of a man of action than his previous incarnation have been.
Quasar and Drax aren’t accounted for in this issue but you can be certain that they will get to them eventually. The story ties into War of Kings in a very big way, but that would be spoiling it for you, you’ll just have to read this issue in order to get in on War of Kings early, because this new saga promises to be a good one!
