A “Go-To Guy” is someone that is reliable and consistent, always useful in a pinch. In comics a “Go-To Guy” is a character that can be consistently used to fill a story need. If you need a plot device or a villain these guys are always there when you need them in the Marvel Universe.

Here are 10 of the most consistent players in Marvel Comics.

10. Sentinels

These lumbering behemoths have been terrorizing mutant kind for decades. Created in 1965 these guys have seen many iterations and have been used by a slew of different writers. The common thread was always that Sentinels hunted down mutants. However, recently the Sentinel O.N.E. project was launched where the mighty robots were on the side of the good guys. This cemented the Sentinels has a go to device that any writer can use to tell stories. Whether it be in a dark, distant future or the invasion of Onslaught, the Sentinels have been a part of the Marvel framework from the beginning.
