At long last, Blacklist Studios' indie hit Robot-13 is back for its second issue, as creators Thomas Hall and Daniel Bradford further the titular R13's quest to find out who he is. R13 is pushing forward, and yet again he'll have to deal with his compulsion to battle creatures that are mythical in nature; this time, the Phoenix.
Since the first issue's release, Robot-13 has received near-universal acclaim from all over the world, and Blacklist is ramping up distribution to match demand - digitally. While you can still buy the $3.99 print comic directly from the Blacklist Studios website, the independent publisher has made a digital distribution deal with Robot Comics, a publisher of mobile comics via newfangled doohickies like the iPhone, iPod Touch, Kindle, Android, and the Nintendo DSi. Robot-13 #2 will be available digitally on the iPhone, iPod Touch and Android by the end of the year, for the low price of $0.99. The first issue will be available digitally as well, for the even lower price of free.
Issue #2 will also feature dual covers; a front cover by Bradford and a back cover, fully painted, by Jeff Slemons. And of course, everyone wants a little more bang for their buck in these tough economic times, so issue #2 will be shipping with a pin-ups gallery as well, featuring work from artists like A.P. Furtado, Daniel Davis, Tom Boatwright, and Todd Webb.
Make sure you pre-order your copy, and for now, enjoy the epic cover:
