Star Wars Legacy #39
Cade finally picks a side?

If you’ve been keeping up with Star Wars Legacy then you might share my concern for Cade Skywalker. He’s been on a path of darkness since issue one and with any great character what happens to him has started to matter for me. It’s been a fun ride following Cade down his personal path and I’m eager to see what he eventually becomes. Issue 39 features Luke Skywalker and a few other characters from the past. Luke is starting to make headway with Cade and that’s just the beginning.

Cade and his crew have been ripping off pirates and the Imperials alike and have started to garner some unwanted attention. A small group of bounty hunters, Imperial agents, and others are all on Tatooine chasing after Cade. Among his pursuers is his mother Morrigan Corde whose allegiances are somewhat questionable.

This issue helps to set Cade and company back on a progressive path, I’ll be the first to admit that the book has been treading water lately but hopefully the new developments will get things moving once again.

The strong point to Legacy has to be Cade and his crew who are the focal point to a greater galactic conflict. Cades allegiances will tip the scales of the conflict and the writers do a great job of creating the sense that the universe itself is waiting with baited breath for Cade to make a choice. Just like the reader.

Luke Skywalker represented a new breed of Jedi. The way in which he went about training and recruiting new Jedi was completely different from the old ways. I see with Cade another change in the way Jedi operate which makes this story all the more awesome.

The future of Star Wars so far has been a blast and this issue continues the excitement.
