News and Notes from the week in comics.

Welcome true believers to the Book Report. This is where you can go to find out useful info about the world of comics on a weekly basis. We’ll have industry news and the like as well as reports on most things comics related. You’ve been warned, now let’s get to it.
So they found a director…

It looks like there may be some headway into the Wonder Woman movie project. No, Megan Fox isn’t playing Wonder Woman and neither is Beyonce for that matter (thank god), but there may be a director in the works. It looks like McG may want a crack at the title. Let’s reserve judgment until the new Terminator flick comes out.
And the threats abound…

Even though the first movie hasn’t come out yet, there are apparently talks of a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. My god, can we at least wait and make sure this first movie doesn’t suck first? Hugh Jackman said that we should wait until May 3rd

to see about a sequel, I would suggest listening to the man, sheesh.

Well, screw her then…

Do you remember Caitlin from Heroes season 2? Well apparently Tim Kring would like you to forget about the girl lost in an insane future. According to Ain’t it cool news Kring had this to say, “"No, we passed it. We leapfrogged it." In other words, screw her and her predicament. While the show is still very good, they seriously dropped the ball on this one.
Either with him or without him…

There is a good chance that Ed Norton won’t be back for the next Hulk movie. But that won’t stop Marvel from going ahead with the project according to actor Tim Nelson who has confirmed that he has been signed on to do two sequels. Five bucks says that Norton’s absence tanks this franchise.
Will Smith is an Oldboy?

So the rumors of Steven Spielberg and Will Smith remaking Oldboy are apparently true. Smith promises that the source material will be the comic books and not the movie that was made based on them years ago. So what the hell does that mean? How much different was the film from the source material. Despite what Will Smith haters might say, this movie might be promising.
Uh oh, sounds like a stinker…

Josh Brolin had some strange words for MTV concerning the new Jonah Hex project that many should find concerning. Without getting into details it looks like Brolin wasn’t too happy with the script that he read. In all fairness he could have been joking with the guys at MTV, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Finally, some good news…

There is no drama on the Iron Man 2 set! At least not yet. The early reports are that things are going smoothly and the crew is starting to make their preparations. Downey Jr. is still working on Sherlock Holmes so things haven’t quite begun as of yet, but isn’t good to hear that the Don Cheadle issue seems to be over?
The Countdown has begun, sort of…

In preparation for the upcoming Star Trek movie reboot, IDW publishing will be producing a special limited series (four issues) that will run as a prequel to the… prequel. The story will be plotted by Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman and scripted by Mike Johnson and Tim Jones.
Not quite the longest yard here but…

As if there weren’t enough comic book movies coming out, we have one more for the pile, Captain Marvel. Peter Segal has been tapped to direct the film based on a teenaged Billy Batson who calls upon Captain Marvel by yelling out “Shazam!” Yeah, that sounds like a major motion picture.
And finally, Robert Downey Jr.

The last bit of info comes by way of MTV, they have confirmed that Robert Downey Jr. is set to participate in the Avengers movie. He said something to the tune of ‘If we don’t get it right, it’s really going to suck’. Very true Robert, very true.
