So did you watch Heroes on Monday? Well we have Heroes news as well as a bit of info from Alex Ross, all in this week’s installment of The Book Report.

According to io9.com the turnout for season three of Heroes was much lower than suspected with the show getting beat in the ratings by Dancing with the Stars and CSI: Miami. The article states that viewership of the show was down 25% from last year.

As a sign the apocalypse is fast approaching Spider-Man the musical is supposedly set to begin the week before Christmas. Evan Rachel Wood of Across the Universe fame will apparently be playing the part of Mary Jane with Jim Sturgess playing as Peter Parker. Remember folks that this is a rumor and there is no need to head to the cellar, yet.

Did you know that Kick-Ass’ Dave Lizewski is a real person? Well, sort of. Actually Lizewski won the chance to have his name used by being the highest bidder in a special auction that was held in 2006 for charity. Well, Mark Millar is at it again this time offering up a chance to be immortalized in his current series War Heroes. The auction will be for the restoration of Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel’s boyhood home in Cleveland, Ohio.

It was confirmed at the Hasbro Licensing summit that Transformers and Decepticons Sideswipe, Devastator and Ravage will all be in the newest film sequel.

DC has plans to revisit a lot of their old War Books with ‘Unknown Soldier’ starting in October, Sgt. Rock in November and finally in December we’ll see the return of Haunted Tank. The series will be published by DC’s Vertigo imprint and will be written by Frank Maraffino.

Fresh from the pages of Project Superpowers comes the Death Defying Devil from comics legend Alex Ross. Published by Dynamite Entertainment the book will be written by Joe Casey and drawn by Dynamites own Edgar Salazar. There will also be covers by hotshot artist John Cassaday.

Here's the cover by Cassaday:
